How RFFA Began

2002:	Marion Bunch was asked by Past RI President Bhichai Rattakul to put together a plan to help the African children.
2003:	RFFA was formed and approved by the RI Board.
2004:	RFFA entered a partnership agreement with other organizations, called African Network for Children Orphaned and at Risk (ANCHOR).
2004:	ANCHOR applied for AIDS funding from the U.S government.
2005, early:	ANCHOR received $8.1 million from USAID for project partnership plan.
2005, June:	At RI Centennial Convention in Chicago, RFFA announced Orphan Rescue to help the African children.

The Rotarians for Fighting AIDS (formerly Rotarian Fellowship For Fighting AIDS) was initiated by Marion Bunch, now the current Chair of RFFA and formerly RI’s Health Concerns Advisor on AIDS. Marion has developed a coalition of powerful organizations to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa. .....

Bunch Appointed to Rotary International Global Committee to Shape Rotarian Action Group Policy

Marion Bunch was appointed by RI President Bill Boyd to be a member of a Rotarian Action Groups Committee that met at RI headquarters August 2 to 4. The committee's agenda was to review all aspects of Rotary Action Groups including, but not limited to, a review of the criteria for Rotarian Action Groups, the relationship of these groups to The Rotary Foundation and to RI committees, task forces or resource groups, the process by which such groups apply for recognition and any other issues identified by the President, the Board or the General Secretary. .....

Third Annual Meeting of Rotarians for Fighting AIDS, a Rotarian Action Group, Held In Copenhagen

RFFA's third annual meeting was held on 13 June 2006 in Copenhagen, Denmark at the Rotary International Convention and provided an update on progress and a call for action going forward.

Founder Marion Bunch reported on the organization's signature projects: ANCHOR (Africa Network for Children Orphaned and at Risk) and ORPHAN RESCUE (a way for Rotarians and non-Rotarians to securely help an orphaned child in Africa get emergency relief and get back into school). .....

Mission Statement

Our purpose is to mobilize Rotarians and provide global leadership in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

We believe in breaking the silence on AIDS, thereby reducing the stigma and making AIDS a mainstream issue. We will create an organizational structure that will encourage Rotarians around the world to work on HIV/AIDS education and prevention, with a particular focus on mobilizing and assisting community support efforts for orphans and vulnerable children.

RFFA was approved by the Rotary International Board in October 2003. RFFA operates in accordance with Rotary International policy but is not an agency of, or controlled by Rotary International.
